An exceptionally saturated, opaque purple color is followed by a wine with a tight, closed bouquet. Even with coaxing little aroma emerges, save for some vague, sweet smells of black fruits, minerals, and pepper. The impression of an impenetrable, backward style of Zinfandel is confirmed by the taste. The wine is massive to the point of being huge, with tremendous extraction of fruit as well as mouthsearing, hard, tough tannins. While this wine needs at least 4-5 years of cellaring, it possesses the requisite depth and overall balance to age for 12-15 years, making it an uncommonly long-lived Zinfandel. Tel. (707) 965-2488
