Selvapiana’s 2003 Chianti Rufina (95% Sangiovese and the rest Canaiolo) spent ten months in oak prior to bottling. It is a big, spicy, chewy offering possessing new saddle leather, spice box, strawberry, cherry, and earth characteristics. Dense, medium-bodied, and smoothly textured, with surprising depth as well as concentration, it should drink well for 2-3 years.
