The unfiltered Nuits St.-Georges Les Saint-Georges, made from the domaine's vineyard and the Nuits St.-Georges Les Saint-Georges Cuvee Georges Faiveley, purchased by the Faiveley firm from the Hospices de Nuits, make an interesting comparison. When I tasted these wines with Francois Faiveley and his staff, they preferred the wine from their own vineyard. It exhibited a deep ruby color, fresh acidity, long, full body, plummy, earthy flavors, and a nice subtle touch of oak. This wine should last for a decade.
