The 2001 Monpra, Nebbiolo and Barbera with a supplementary 10% of Cabernet, deep ruby in tonality, offers important aromas of raspberry and cassis along with iris and dried herb scents. Tarry, toasty, and amply endowed with black berry fruit, the long and dense flavors kept in balance with a light, but useful acidity which adds to the momentum and freshness.
