1993 is Bonneau's least favorite vintage of the last four years. He calls it "my vintage of worry." The 1993 Chateauneuf du Pape, which will undoubtedly be classified a Cuvee Marie Beurrier, is soft, with no trace of rot or vegetal fruit. It reveals a deep ruby color, full body, a sweet, expansive chewiness, and earthy, truffle-like, spicy flavors. This appears to be a 10-12 year wine, which by Bonneau standards is short-lived.
