The 2012 Palell is named after a 0.7-hectare vineyard planted in 1950 with Garnacha Peluda, a strain that has less color, more acidity and less alcohol, on clay soils. It fermented in 500-liter oak barrels and the wine was transferred to well-seasoned barriques for malolactic and one year aging. This wine is always light colored, and the dominant aromas and flavors are fresh cherries, with citric freshness compensating the Mediterranean herbs. Tasty and fresh. 700 bottles were filled in April 2014; 2012 was a short vintage.
