Offering up inviting aromas of sweet citrus fruits, confit orange, buttery pastry, white flowers and freshly baked bread, the 1990 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is full-bodied, ample and satiny, with a textural attack that segues into a layered, vibrant mid-palate that's animated by bright acids and chalky structuring extract, concluding with a long, saline finish. Of the 1988-1989-1990 trio, the 1990 is my favorite for its seamless, harmonious, sensual profile.
