The 2016 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos du Caillerets is cut from a similar cloth to the Clos de la Pucelle but has more complexity with hints of linseed and Mirabelle. It grows in stature in the glass. The palate is fresh on the entry, quite energetic and saline, not quite as powerful as the Clos de la Pucelles, but it has precision and detail. I think the terroir will ultimately show through wonderfully here, one of the finest white Burgundy 2016s that I encountered during my tastings.
