The 2015 Dry Riesling comes in at 11% alcohol and just three grams per liter of residual sugar. If last year's version seemed stony and slightly austere, this ups the ante. Laced with a bit of flint, this finishes with a touch of lemon. In between, the big burst of acidity grips the tongue and makes it clear that this is a food wine, not a casual sipper. Modest in body and big in power, this unevolved and rather austere Riesling could use a year in the cellar because the fruit is just a bit difficult to find now. In many respects, however, this is mightily impressive--have your expectations in order and don't think of cracking it for a simple sip on the porch.
