The 2012 Sicilia Syrah Lusirà represents an impressive effort from Baglio del Cristo di Campobello. This pure expression of Syrah boasts a very happy marriage between grape variety and territory. The wine does exhibit a lot of oak, but unlike the Nero d'Avola Lu Patri, it boasts aromas of dark fruit, cured meat and black peppercorn that are very specific to this grape. They are not masked by the generous wood. The wine's texture is soft and round. The finish offers layers of leather, tobacco and prune.
