The 2004 Chaos is 50% Montepulciano, 25% Syrah and 25% Merlot aged in French oak. This sumptuous wine reveals gorgeous, perfumed aromatics and layers of vibrant, sweet fruit that open onto the palate with lovely detail and clarity. It shows terrific balance, particularly in the way the finessed tannins frame the fruit. It is the most complex and intriguing of these wines. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2019. This small property located in the Marche has been owned by the Terni family since the late 1800s. Antonio Terni is a long-time fan of Bob Dylan, whose music has been the inspiration of many of the wines.
