The 1997 Barolo exhibits a plum/garnet color with a pink rim. Scents of black tea, cherry liqueur, and sandalwood are followed by an opulent, lush, fleshy wine with copious spice, glycerin, and alcohol as well as low acidity. It is a voluptuous, disarming Barolo to enjoy over the next 8-9 years.
