Argyle's extended tirage sparkling makes up around 1,500 cases of vintage brut and has aged on its lees for a decade. The 2010 Brut Extended Tirage is a blend of 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay and was disgorged in the summer of 2020. Although 2010 and 2011 were both wet, cool seasons with grapes harvested into November, the 2010 is much savorier and richer in style than its 2011 counterpart. It has generous scents of mushroom tart, bread crust, dried cherries and bruised apples with stony nuances. The palate opens bright and fresh before segueing to richer baked apple and biscuit tones, finishing with great length.
