The 2007 Castell de les Pinyeres is made up of 40% Samso, 40% Garnacha, and the balance Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Tempranillo aged in mainly French oak for 12 months. Aromas of cedar, spice box, tobacco, mineral, black cherry, and plum are followed by a savory wine with layered, spicy flavors, good volume, and a medium-long finish. Drink this excellent value over the next 3-4 years. Celler El Masroig is the largest cooperative winery in Montsant.
