As for the value wines, the 2009 Cotes du Rhone La Deveze red (a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and old vine Carignan) exhibits a medium ruby color along with attractive dusty, loamy, earthy notes intermixed with hints of balsam wood, black cherries and herbs. This spicy, fleshy, medium-bodied, elegant 2009 should be consumed over the next several years. I also tasted an amazing white wine from Domaine de Dionysos, but at $45 a bottle, it was too expensive to be included in this report (however, if readers see a bottle of the 2007 La Deveze made from 100% Grenache Gris, they should not hesitate to purchase it).Importer: Serge Dore Selections, Chappaqua, NY; tel.
