The 2010 Cotes du Rhone-Villages Cairanne Reserve RB is primarily Grenache blended with some Syrah, Mourvedre and Carignan. From a vintage that achieved greater ripeness, density and lower yields, this inky/purple-colored 2010 offers up notes of cassis, black currants, loamy soil, underbrush and forest floor. It is a perfumed, rich, medium to full-bodied, full-throttle, impressive wine to drink over the next 7-8 years.
One of the finest estates in southern France is that of Bruno and Alain Boisson, the latter whom oversees the Cros de Romet property. The Domaine Boisson 2007s, 2009s and 2010s were all successful, and the estate has once again succeeded with their 2011s. Importer: Alain Junguenet, Wines of France, Mountainside, NJ; tel.
