This wine is undoubtedly the finest Pinot Noir Handley has yet produced. Bottled with neither fining nor filtration, this outstanding Pinot offers additional evidence for the quality of wines from this varietal in the Anderson Valley. Handley's 1995 Reserve exhibits a saturated deep ruby/purple color, as well as a knock-out nose of black cherries and blackberries. In the mouth, it is medium to full-bodied with gobs of fruit, an opulent texture, enough acidity for definition and vibrancy, and a long, 30+ second finish. This is an exquisite, complex Pinot Noir to consume over the next 3-4 years.This winery continues to turn out impressive wines at reasonable prices.
