Notes of pear, citrus oil, white flowers and wheat toast introduce the 2020 Puligny-Montrachet, a medium-bodied open and precise wine that's charming and delicate, with a pretty core of fruit and a chalky finish.

Notes of waxy citrus peel, white flowers, fresh bread and almonds introduce the 2019 Puligny-Montrachet, a medium-bodied, crisp and tangy white that's fine-boned and mineral.

The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet mingles notions of citrus oil and confit lemon with hints of pastry cream and hazelnuts. Medium to full-bodied, it's both the most textural and the most concentrated of Chartron's communal bottlings, with lively acids and an expansive finish.

The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet Village reveals pretty aromas of white peach, spring flowers and pastry cream, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample palate that's the most pure and elegant of Chartron's communal appellations this year. It will be well worth seeking out.

The 2016 Puligny Montrachet Village felt a little tight on the nose with light granitic, almost marine-like scents emerging. The palate has weight and body, clean and fresh with a touch of wild honey, although I think the previous two vintages showed more tension. Still, this is a delicious, easy-going Puligny that will drink well over 2 or 3 years.
