Deydier’s 2011 Chateauneuf du Pape Tradition is an evolved, soft, almost blatantly commercial effort with an easy-going style. I can understand their objective in a vintage where some producers did not have enough concentration to make a deeper wine. Most of the 2011s are relatively forward and consumer friendly, but this takes it to the point of boredom. It is a decent, fresh Chateauneuf that is best drunk in its first 4-5 years of life.
(Not yet released)
A far better bet are the three cuvees of 2010 from Deydier’s 50 acres in Chateauneuf du Pape.
