The 2011 ARINTO is a rather charming iteration of this grape at a great price point. Combining excellent depth and acidity, it seems substantial and mouth filling. Fresh and exuberant, it tastes great now, but it should hold a couple of years nicely. Winemaker Martta Simoes says she likes them better after about a year. It seems quite fine now, though. The 2009 ARINTO is fresh and pure, with a bit of steel underneath. Tasty and quite charming, with nice fragrance, it should be a lovely and charming white, as long as it is drunk young. It is not, perhaps, as crisp as some Arintos in some years, but it has enough acidity and its fruity charm makes it a lot of fun at the moment. It won’t be ever any better than it is now.
