The 2021 Zinfandel Dogtown Vineyard is an easy-drinking Zinfandel that nonetheless offers a decade of cellaring potential. It has a medium garnet color and loads of spicy aromas: cranberry, allspice, amaro and potpourri aromas unfurl as it spends time in the glass. The medium-bodied palate is softly chalky and refreshing. It's loaded with crunchy fruit and offers a long, spicy finish.

The 2019 Zinfandel Dogtown Vineyard, medium ruby-purple in color, has alluring floral perfume and exotic spices with a core of wild berry preserves and stone fruit nuances. The medium-bodied palate is pure and perfumed, with a grainy, fresh frame and a flourish of spices on the finish. 570 cases were made.

The 2018 Zinfandel Dogtown Vineyard is a touch mute on the nose, with a delicate perfume of flowers, earth, licorice and red berries. The full-bodied palate packs a punch, with a firm, chewy frame and dense flavors, finishing with just enough freshness.

The 2017 Zinfandel Dogtown Vineyard has a pale to medium ruby-purple color and is scented of soft yellow peach, sliced blueberry, boysenberry and crushed black cherries with a core of licorice and exotic spice plus hints of charcuterie and granite. Medium-bodied, it gives a great core of ripe fruits with loads of spicy accents and earthy hints—very concentrated in the mouth, with great juicy acidity and firm, fine, grainy tannins, finishing very long and very layered. 450 cases produced.

From a site located on the outskirts of Lodi in the beginning of the foothills on volcanic and clay soils, the 2016 Zinfandel Dogtown Vineyard exhibits a complex nose of dried herbs, sage, cherries and raspberries. This dry-farmed vineyard planted in 1944 is the lowest yielding in Turley's portfolio, and the tiny clusters it produces show in the wine's dense, layered, richly tannic profile. It's one of the best candidates for sustained bottle age in the range this year.
