The 1996 Sauvignon possesses a provocative nose of freshly mowed hay, fresh herbs, flint, and minerals. The wine is exuberant in the mouth, with a vigorous, dry, medium-bodied personality crammed with fruit. This beautifully made, delicious Sauvignon can be drunk with a variety of dishes over the next 1-2 years. One of the reference point wineries for dry, crisp, stainless steel-fermented and aged Italian white wines, Schiopetto's 1996s are very fine efforts. I can hardly wait for Schiopetto's 1997s!A Leonardo Locasio Selection, Winebow, Hohokus, NJ; tel. (201) 445-0620
