The 2005 424 Red Wine is a blend of 45% Cabernet Franc, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Merlot aged for 20 months in 50% new French oak. Purple-colored, it has an attractive bouquet of cedar, earth notes, clove, cinnamon, red currants, and black cherry. This leads to a smooth-textured, concentrated, deep wine with spicy, complex flavors and a pure, lengthy finish. It will evolve for 2-3 years and provide pleasurable drinking from 2010 to 2017. Tim Stevens’ first vintage was 2001 and the winery is located in a Woodinville warehouse. Production is 2500 cases with a focus on Yakima Valley fruit.Tel. (425) 453-5988; www.stevenswinery.com
