The purple-colored 424 (the winery’s Bonded number) is composed of 44% Cabernet Franc, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 13% Merlot and was aged for 20 months in 50% new oak. It emits an alluring bouquet of sage, cinnamon, vanilla, scorched earth, and black currant. On the palate it is dense, layered, and succulent with excellent focus and enough structure to evolve for 3-4 years. It will offer pleasure through 2020. Located in Woodinville (along with 41 other wineries), Tim Stevens’ first vintage was 2001 with current production at 2500 cases. Stevens works exclusively with Yakima Valley fruit from Sheridan, Meek, DuBrul, and Dineen vineyards.Tel. (425) 453-5988; www.stevenswinery.com
