The 2012 Bolgheri Superiore Sapaio is flatter and less exciting at this time in its evolution. This Tuscan red blend shows moderate dimension, although it does deliver a good amount of black fruit, tar and spicy tobacco. There is less acidity on the close, which contributes to the one-dimensional feel of the wine.
