The 2008 Pinot Noir Quailhurst Vineyard gives up a nose of balsam wood, smoke, spice box, incense, cherry, and strawberry. Medium-bodied, packed with fruit and flavor as well as a sense of elegance, this lengthy effort deftly combines finesse and power. Give it 2-3 years to fully blossom and drink it from 2012 to 2020.
After making very good to outstanding wines in 2005 and 2006, Dobbes Family fell off the horse in the challenging 2007 vintage. However, they seem to have remounted with an excellent portfolio of 2008s.
