The 2007 Bolgheri Rosso is a dense, powerful, earthy red imbued with the essence of smoke, tar, leather and grilled herbs. The wine reveals surprising richness and density on the palate, even if some rough edges remain. The Bolgheri Rosso is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot and 10% Sangiovese. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2013.
This is an impressive set of new releases from Grattamacco, one of Maremma’s historic properties. Only Tenuta San Guido can lay claim to a longer track-record here.
