The 2015 Cornas les Barcillants boasts stunning aromas of cracked pepper, stemmy-herbal notes and cassis. Then it adds to that on the palate, offering ample weight, a rich, plush texture and tremendous length. Yes, it's approachable now, but try to wait a couple of years and then drink it over the next decade.

Well-built, with a core of crushed plum, warm raspberry coulis and blackberry paste flavors that meld slowly together over a strident chalky structure. Lots of lavender, rosemary and violet notes fill in through the finish, giving this range and lift to match the fruit.
