The 2010 Seleccio Especial is pure Carinena from extremely old vines (80 to100 years old) on slate slopes, fermented and aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels. The color is a luminescent purple and there is a sensation of harmony that is noticeable as soon as you put your nose in the glass. The palate is extremely balanced and super-fresh, with perfectly integrated acidity and velvety tannins. There is great work in the vineyard and in the winery to achieve this level of sophistication in the tannins. 2,900 bottles produced. This is a superb Carinena at a relatively good price. Drink 2016-2025.
