Tasted blind at the annual “Burgfest” tasting in Bouilland. The 2013 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Montceau has a reserved nose, one that is stubbornly backward, but with time I can see this opening and delivering granitic-like aromas, a light sea spray influence in the background. The palate is fresh on the entry with green apple, kiwi fruit and grapefruit, nicely balanced, pretty with a bit of oak to be subsumed on the saline finish, so afford this another year in bottle. Tasted May 2016.
