This internationally-styled, dark ruby/purple-colored Barolo displays noticeable new oak along with an elegant, stylish, medium-bodied personality without a great deal of regional typicity. However, it is well-made, with sweet tannin, excellent concentration, and plenty of black fruits intermixed with wood, smoke, and spice. The wine's tannin as well as firmness suggest 3-4 years of cellaring will be beneficial. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2015.Importer: Kobrand Corp., New York, NY; tel. (212) 490-9300
