Fermented with wild yeast in French oak barriques, 20% new, and aged in the oak for 11 months, the 2010 Chardonnay has a subtle nose of apricots, marzipan and baking bread with hints of orange blossom and brioche. Medium-bodied with a lovely, satiny texture, it has a refreshing line of acid cutting through the ample, fruit, finishing long and toasty. Drink it now through 2015.
I tasted a few of Seresin’s single vineyard 2009 Pinot Noirs again this year, to check how they were developing now that they were entering their drinking window. In short, it is well worth waiting a year after release before readers consider drinking these wines!
