Yields were so generous in this vintage that Alain Coche had to purchase a Vaslin press, but the 1973 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes is drinking very well today, offering up aromas of clear honey, toasted nuts, orange oil, iodine and drawn butter. Medium to full-bodied, chalky and structured, with tangy acids and a long, saline finish, it's still in its prime.
