The 2007 Barolo Vigna Gallinotto offers up plenty of dark red fruit with notable vibrancy and freshness. Clean, mineral notes frame the long, energetic finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. I was quite taken with the wines I tasted from Molino this year. It’s too soon to tell if these superb Baroli are more the result of the vintage or if they represent a level we can expect from the estate going forward. I hope it is the latter, but whatever the case, these are magnificent wines that readers will want to check out. As always, the Molino Baroli are juicy wines made in a style that is best suited to near and medium term drinking. The percentage of new oak appears to be way down from the recent past. Ripe, featuring eucalyptus, balsamic and soy aromas and flavors, with hints of tar and a saline note. Rich and fleshy, coating the dense, well-integrated tannins.
