With fruit from La Morra, the Mauro Molino 2018 Barolo Bricco Luciani shows sharp contours and etched lines with blue and purple fruits, cola, grilled herb and wild rose. The wine’s structure is firm and mild, but the silky nature of the tannins is what stands out most.

This leads off with a good dose of spicy new oak, with vanilla and resin aromas and flavors wrapped around a core of cherry, plum and eucalyptus. Fresh and firm, yet feels balanced in the end.
