Those lots of Zinfandel from tiny parcels that are not large enough to be bottled on their own have been assembled together in a new release called 1996 Zinfandel Old Vines. This wine exhibits a terrific nose of sweet berry fruit, underbrush, and spice. Dense, chewy, and full-bodied, this is a rich, concentrated, dry, lusty Zinfandel with 14.6% alcohol. It should drink well for 4-7 years, possibly longer.
