A blend of 30% Syrah, 28% Grenache, 22% Mourvedre and 20% Cinsault that was aged in five-gallon glass jugs, the 2009 Le Cigare Volant Reserve en Bonbonne has a Provencal feel in its wild herbs, saddle leather, licorice and sweet black cherry scented bouquet. This carries to a medium-bodied red that has solid fruit, juicy, yet integrated acidity and a clean finish. It has slightly more depth and richness over the standard bottling, and should drink nicely for 4-5 years.
