I also tasted the 2013 Hipperia, a blend of 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Cabernet Franc, 18% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot that matured in new French oak barriques for one year. The nose shows herbal aromas, notes of blackberries and a very faint note of leather, licorice and fountain pen ink. It has a similar character to the Petit Hipperia from the same vintage. The palate is dry, medium-bodied with some rusticity, dusty tannins and a tasty finish. 26,913 bottles produced.
