The 2011 Irpinia Aglianico Terra d'Eclano opens to a beautifully dark and brooding appearance with black hues and garnet highlights. The bouquet is redolent of black cherry, blackberry, spice, toasted nut, cola, tar and licorice. Indeed, the wine exhibits an impressive level of complexity and depth. Soft fruit flavors wrap around the palate and the wine shows tight tannic firmness and acidity at the back. It should continue its slow evolution over the next ten years.
