The 2008 Barolo Vigna Gancia impresses for its depth, richness and overall complexity. Sweet dark cherries, spices, licorice and subtle hints of French oak flesh out beautifully in this deep, resonant, totally beautiful Barolo. The Gancia shows off striking nuance and a beautifully layered, expressive finish. I imagine the Gancia will drink well upon release and continue to improve for at least another decade.
